Whether you downloaded Affinity software from the App Store or Google Play, activating your license will convert your trial into a retail version. When you start using a different Affinity Version 2 application, you can sign in to your Affinity ID to activate your license immediately or start a trial and sign in later.

We regularly release updates to our software, and all Version 2.x updates are free for licensed customers. The iPad App Store will automatically serve the latest release builds on that platform. Once you purchase a perpetual license, the app works indefinitely on your device. If you need assistance with this process, contact our sales department support team.

To activate your license, use the Activation Password within the application. After registering your software, you don't need to remain logged in to use the software or receive updates. Business and Education licensing may be sold with Version 2 Activation Passwords, which determine the terms of the license, from extended trials to perpetual licenses.

Let's take Affinity Designer 2 as an example case, where we'll focus on purchasing a Universal License, but you can choose a single application license instead (see Registering a Single Application License). For each application - Designer, Photo, and Publisher - you can only have one 30-day trial of our software. You can only buy these from the iPad App Store via in-app purchase.

All downloads are free and will offer a 30-day trial on start-up, as well as the option to purchase a perpetual license. There are two main types of licenses available:

* A single application license for iPadOS: one for each application - Designer, Photo, and Publisher.

* An Affinity V2 Universal License: A single license that allows you to use any Version 2 Affinity application (Designer, Photo, and Publisher) on all three operating systems (macOS, Windows, and iPadOS).

A perpetual license means that you can use your Affinity app forever. If you have bought an Affinity app, you will have bought a perpetual license to use that app.
